Holiday Cocktails
The holiday season brings with it plenty of guests arriving at your home. Warm up your guests (and yourself) this holiday season with these festive cocktails!
Wine-Based
-
Mulled Red Wine
Mulled wine is a popular drink all throughout Europe. To mix up your own, use orange juice, brandy, sugar, and citrus peels to introduce new layers of flavor to a red wine. All the ingredients are heated up together to create a delicious warmed drink.
-
Cranberry Cider Sangria
Cranberry cider sangria uses a mix of red wine, apples, oranges, brandy, and spices such as cinnamon and star anise to create a holiday twist on the classic Spanish drink.
Rum-Based
-
Hot Buttered Rum
Heat together brown sugar, hot milk, and dark rum. After transferring to a glass, float butter on the top and garnish with some ground nutmeg.
-
Eggnog
Eggnog is the classic holiday drink. Create an egg yolk and sugar mixture and a milk, clove, cinnamon, and vanilla mixture. Combine, add rum, and chill overnight.
Vodka-Based
-
Cranberry Hot Toddy
Heat together cranberry juice with a cranberry vodka, lemon juice, honey, bitters, and cinnamon.
-
Pumpkin Pie Martini
This one has a little bit more than just vodka! Mix together vanilla vodka, pumpkin spice liqueur, Kahlua, butternut schnapps, and half-and-half. To give it that truly pumpkin pie taste, garnish the rim with crushed graham crackers to create a crust.
Champagne-Based
-
Pomegranate Mimosas
Switch out the traditional orange juice for pomegranate juice this season. The splash of pomegranate juice adds the perfect holiday color to your drink. If you don’t like pomegranate juice, experiment with other juice (and other colors) to create your perfect drink.
Brandy-Based
-
Spiked Apple Cider
This is one of the easiest ones to make. Simply mix together brandy with a sweet cider. Garnish with apple slices.
Liqueur-Based
-
Cocoa Raspberry Hot Chocolate
Make your favorite hot chocolate. Mix in raspberry liqueur and crème de cacao. Don’t forget the whipped cream on top!
