Garden State Home Loans Welcomes Nine New Teammates for a Summer Internship!
Garden State Home Loans is proud to announce the recent on-boarding of 9 interns as part of our Summer Internship Program. With over 350 applications, the selection process was incredibly competitive, and we here at Garden State Home Loans are confident that the 9 selected will be vital assets to the GSHL Team and the Internship Program.
Our interns are coming from all walks of life, from college juniors and seniors to MBA students, and even students just finishing up their freshman year of college. They are studying at various top schools such as Rutgers, Cornell, and Temple, in majors like Sociology, Finance, and Digital Marketing. GSHL hopes to give the Summer Interns a feeling for our first-class customer service culture, and impart skills they can carry with them through the rest of their respective careers.
On their first day, the interns were quickly introduced to GSHL’s history and company culture by president Anthony Casa. Anthony related to the interns what led him into the mortgage industry, and what it is that makes GSHL unique. After introducing them to Justin DeJoseph (CEO), Steve Weitzman (Director of Marketing), and Joseph Cicali (CIO), Anthony briefed the interns on how the 10-week summer program will play out. The interns’ day-to-day routine is broken into two parts: first, they learn new material with support from the GSHL team, then, the interns split into three teams and compete against each other using that new material. Working in a fast-paced environment, interns will engage with the sales process, customer relationship management (CRM) software, and various aspects of marketing. Marketing topics covered will include content writing, digital strategy, branding, and using social media in a professional context. The program will also emphasize team based learning, both within the interns’ project teams, and through working with the GSHL team as a whole. Through team based learning, interns will develop important skills in communication and relationship management, as well as gain exposure to GSHL’s customer network and the expertise of our team.
The GSHL team is extremely excited to welcome these 9 interns, and we will work to support them throughout the program’s duration. Our commitment to quality customer service would not be possible without happy employees. It is our goal to demonstrate, share, and teach strong values, the importance of setting goals, and the healthy balance of professionalism and fun here at the office in New Jersey.
